Overseas Pakistani’s have faced intense issues in the past several decades, despite the stimulus and funding they send back home. Despite sending money to their families in Pakistan, which is the second greatest source of growth in the Pakistani economy, they are treated like machines with the sole purpose of producing foreign exchange. They have no rights to contest elections, and are only represented by a near half century old organization OPF(overseas Pakistanis Foundation) which was established by a dictator and OPF always used to appoint officials as a Political bribe, it has become one of the most corrupt and useless institution which is run by state funds along with funds collected from Pakistanis who wish to work abroad etc; furthermore, they are looted, harassed, and swindled out of their money when they land in their home country, not by any criminal organization, but by government officials who seek to take advantage of their limited rights in Pakistan. This has an adverse effect on the relationship between Overseas Pakistanis and their homeland. They are reluctant to return and invest in Pakistan anymore, which in turn hurts Pakistan’s economy. If Pakistanis who live and work overseas are treated equally, they would be more comfortable investing in Pakistan because of the added sense of security. This unrealized gain would in turn boost economic growth in Pakistan and would work more in favor for the Country rather than the realized petty gains obtained through misconduct by government officials.

As a Pakistani American I have been always actively involved in Both American and Pakistani community as a social/Political activist. I registered a non-profit organization OPM (Overseas Pakistani Movement) to assist overseas Pakistanis around the Globe, who face challenges in Pakistan or in the country they are living. I am very fortunate that I personally know many officials including current Prime Minister of Pakistan. I will be soon calling International convention to all those organizations who are already working for the same cause and make more strength with unity and funds to solve issues and guide overseas Pakistanis in their legal and other issues in Pakistan.
